…we are featuring a trade catalog about playing cards. This 1898 catalog from the United States Playing Card Co. of Cincinnati, OH is entitled Fashion Series Playing Cards in Miniature.
The catalog includes descriptions and colorful illustrations of a variety of playing cards. Some of the cards show pictures of different occupations or sports on the face cards. Others show the traditional images of Kings, Queens, and Jacks. The designs on the back of the cards are shown in different colors, including red, green, blue, and brown, or show images, such as forest and water scenes. Several types of Whist playing cards are also included in the catalog.
