After viewing the America On The Move exhibit at the National Museum of American History, are you interested in learning more about railroads in United States?
Railroads in the African American Experience: a photographic journey, a book by Theodore Kornweibel, Jr. offers an opportunity to learn more about American railroads in an area previously unexplored. Interviews, historical sources and photos provide a thorough and enlightening illustration of African American history in railroads, which often involved hardship and racism. The National Museum of American History Library has recently acquired this book and encourages patrons (that means you!) to read this interesting view into America's history.
