You may have noticed some exciting changes around the Smithsonian. The birth of a baby panda, the discovery of new mammal olinguito, and the display of Leonardo DaVinci’s Codex on the Flight of Birds are just a few of our recent accolades.
All of these successes are united by a common thread in Smithsonian’s pan-institutional network of 20 research libraries whose rich content and knowledgeable staff are available to researchers, curators, educators and other inquisitive people across America and around the world. Intellectual curiosity, initial and ongoing research, and planning for Smithsonian-wide exhibits originate in our library sites ranging from New York City to the National Mall to Panama. Each location is staffed by expert Librarians who proactively engage with users, enabling access to the specialized resources they need to ensure the accuracy of their work and to advance knowledge in their fields.
As we look ahead to a new calendar year, we hope to continue to expand our collections, programs, and scholarship opportunities. Now more than ever, your support will help us connect people to information in a meaningful way. Please consider making a gift to the Libraries and help us inspire ideas that influence the world.
