The Libraries hosts many interns and researchers during the course of the year. It is always nice to hear that someone has had a great experience, both with our staff and our collections:
I have long recognized the value of the Smithsonian museums both personally and for society at large and the opportunity to spend three weeks at this premiere institution fulfilling my practicum requirement to complete my MLIS degree has been a valuable experience. The library staff has been very supportive and helpful in teaching me the various aspects of the library and its functions. I come away from my experience with increased knowledge and a better understanding of what actually takes place in a museum library on a day-to-day basis. I have had the opportunity to participate in a variety of tasks within the library and have improved my overall skills and have gained additional skills that will help me in my career. I truly appreciate the opportunity provided me and hope that my work contribution in some small way has benefited the library.
