Here are some of the creations that came out of last Sunday’s Family Activity at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival. More can be viewed on the Libraries' Flickr page.
The purpose of the activity was to help kids make and decorate pop-up cards, in conjunction with the Libraries new exhibit, Paper Engineering: Fold, Pull, Pop & Turn. The helpers from the Libraries were Phuong Pham from the Book Conservation Lab and Richard Naples from the Digital Services Division.
We had hundreds of visitors stop by (and nary a papercut, although the 98 degree weather was taxing).
The program was quite a success!
