Recently, the Libraries were fortunate to have hosted not one, but two knowledge management interns. Doug Dunlop, Suzanne Pilsk, and Erin Thomas facilitated their efforts under the umbrella of “Foundations for Knowledge Management at SI and SIL”.

It is recruiting season for the Libraries’ internship and Resident Scholar programs! We are also excited to announce a new photography internship for the Director’s Office.
Emmanuelle Couvert has joined the Libraries’ book conservation lab for a three month internship. She is a 4th year student in the book conservation program at the Institut National du Patrimoine in Paris.
As the Smithsonian American Art/National Portrait Gallery Library (AA/PG), where I am working, deals mainly in art-related items, I was a bit concerned that works on Dickens would be rather hard to come by. Fortunately, I was entirely wrong. In fact, in the main stacks, I found enough books both by and about Dickens that I needed to make two trips to carry them all!
